MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH CENTRE 0- 5 YEARS

Haugesund municipality has three Child Health Centres. Your place of residence determines which one you belong to. When a Child Health Centre receives notice of a delivery from the hospital, we’ll contact you. Should you not hear from us within a week after you’ve left the hospital, please contact us. At the Child Health Centre, you will find a public health nurse, midwife, doctor and a physical therapist.

The Child Health Centres offer home visits and individual consultations, “Open Health Centre”, maternity groups with a midwife and public health nurse as well as a group for four-month olds with a physical therapist. The Child Health Centre may refer you to PMTO as needed. PMTO is an abbreviation for “Parental Management Training – Oregon”. This is a service for families with children aged 3 – 12 experiencing negative day-to-day interactions. PMTO makes parents experts on their own child. Read more here.

Haugesund municipality has established the “Stafettlogg” (Relay Log), built upon closely involving the parents as soon as any causes for concern are uncovered.
